I am trying to read the data coming from it but all i am getting is gibberish.
Serial Checksum Error Code Is ThisMy VB.net code is this. The following code will receive from your device and display each received byte in a rich text box.Serial Checksum Error Plus The FollowingCreate an app with a serial port and a rich text box and a means of configuring and opening the port plus the following code.Thats as far as I have looked into the protocol but it should help you figure it out. I dont know what your expecting or what it all means so your going to have to try and figure it out. Quickly looking at your question re: reqVersion and refering to table 4 your first 4 bytes (0-3) will be AA D8 EA 01 the payload length is 2 including checksum (byte 4), the value of the payload data I dont know (byte 5) then comes the checksum (byte 6) and finally EOF (byte 7), so you have AA D8 EA 01 02 X CS AB. The data in your text box all seem to have the Packet Identifier infDisplayData (31) which does not require a request and provides information and error data. There also appears to be data outside of the start and end of packets (4 bytes), I dont know what the reason for that is. ![]() Another thing, the DataReceived event handler should do as little as possible because only one serial event can be raised at a time. Here is some code that uses a background thread (procData) to process the incoming packet. BTW - the link for the PDF does not work.
